Rose Villa has been serving the Ormond community for over a hundred years. The Mannor House was originally built by Frank and Mary Mason in the late 1800s. It was the first exclusive hotel in the area and brought well-to-do vacationers from all over the North East down to Ormond Beach. Most guests arrived by train on the Flagler Railroad. At one time, there was a two-story building on the rear of the property that was used as a ticket station for the railroad. The original hotel was named Rose Villa and is the inspiration for today’s restaurant.
Years later, the Hotel was purchased by Roy and Evelyn Ryals. They renamed the hotel and called it Ryals Colonial Inn. At that time the property contained 10 rental rooms and seven bathrooms. The inn was a very popular spot for golfers and tennis players. Several great professionals stayed at the Inn including Moe Norman, a well known golf pro from Canada.

The property exchanged hands and was eventually turned into an office. In 1978, Dennis Buckley acquired the property and turned it into the Hudson Realty Co. office. They renovated the property but tried to keep its historical architecture in tact. The building remained an office for many years, serving the people of Ormond with beauty and grace.
The final chapter in the history of Rose Villa is its resurrection as a five star restaurant with homage to the past , where guests are welcome to dine in authentic surroundings.
